Following the EU lead, it has now been announced that the UK will roll out its own CBAM in 2027 as industry warns that Britain risks becoming a dumping ground for high-emission goods. Foreign companies selling carbon intensive materials such as iron, steel, fertiliser, glass, cement and aluminium will have to pay a new charge on their emissions, comparable to that paid on UK produced equivalents.
